










1440 Processing - Building Three Cannabis Brands from the Ground Up
The Challenge
1440 Processing wanted to expand beyond being a cannabis processor into a portfolio company with strong consumer-facing brands. The goal was to capture different segments of the rapidly evolving cannabis market while standing out in a saturated space.
The Approach
After researching emerging cannabis consumer profiles, I identified three distinct audiences with the highest growth potential:
- Everyday cannabis users (casual and recreational)
- High-end connoisseurs (premium buyers)
- Female consumers (an underserved but fast-growing segment)
With these insights, I developed three unique brands, each strategically aligned with one of these user groups, while ensuring they all tied back to 1440 Processing’s larger business objectives.
The Execution
I led the full creative development process for:
- Peace Out: A playful, approachable brand for everyday users. The identity featured bright colors, bold patterns, and a peace sign logo cleverly shaped like a cannabis leaf, designed to resonate with the fun, social side of cannabis culture.
- The Founder: A premium brand created for high-end users, with a refined navy and gold palette, elevated typography, and a sophisticated crest-style logo. This positioning appealed to connoisseurs seeking exclusivity and quality.
- B\loved: A modern, female-forward brand with soft, flowing patterns, pastel-inspired colors, and a gentle, sophisticated look. It spoke to women seeking balance, wellness, and a more intentional cannabis experience.
Beyond visual identities, I built packaging systems, retail assets, social content, and marketing collateral for each brand to ensure they could scale across both digital and physical touchpoints.
The Impact
The launch of Peace Out, The Founder, and B\loved transformed 1440 Processing from a behind-the-scenes processor into a multi-brand portfolio company with market differentiation. By aligning creative strategy to consumer insights, the brands collectively expanded market reach and helped drive a 30% increase in sales, while positioning the company for long-term growth in the competitive cannabis space.
