Fort Myers Brewing - Son of a Biscuit IPA
The Challenge
Create a fun, personal beer label and supporting materials that reflected the brewery’s playful personality while fitting seamlessly within Fort Myers Brewing’s existing product line.
The Strategy & Execution
I came up with the name Son of a Biscuit and positioned it as a Sunny Session IPA with copy that reads: “An enticing, easy-drinking crisp IPA. Crack one open on your porch with your favorite neighborhood cat.” I used a photo of the owners’ actual cat and turned it into a playful illustration for the label. The design was created to align with the look and feel of Fort Myers Brewing’s other products. Marketing materials extended the same tone and personality across the launch.
Key Design Elements
- Quirky, memorable name inspired by the owners’ cat Biscuit
- Illustrated cat mascot bringing personality to the label
- Copy emphasizing easy-drinking, fun, and approachable qualities
The Impact
The project gave the beer a distinct, playful identity while fitting cohesively within the brewery’s lineup. Fans and consumers were drawn to the humor and story, making the launch memorable and giving the brand a friendly, approachable vibe.
