Omron New Horizons Presentation - Relocating to Greenville, SC

The Challenge
Omron was closing its Seattle facility and relocating operations to a new, state-of-the-art office and production facility in Greenville, South Carolina. The challenge was to persuade employees to consider moving across the country, a difficult and emotional decision that could mean uprooting families and leaving established lives behind. Using Omron’s standard presentation template would have felt too corporate and impersonal for such a sensitive message. This effort needed to inspire confidence, highlight Greenville’s advantages, and provide both emotional and factual reasons to make the move.

The Approach
I reimagined the presentation format to create something warmer, more inviting, and focused on lifestyle benefits. Instead of leaning heavily on Omron’s corporate branding, I designed a presentation that celebrated Greenville’s beauty, community, and opportunities. The tone was optimistic and human-centered, blending aspirational photography and video with data-driven facts about quality of life, cost of living, and professional opportunity. Even on this page, I wanted to continue that human-centered tone by showing mockups of the presentation as it would have actually been experienced, with employees sitting at their computers, at home or at coffee shop, contemplating relocation.

The Execution

  • Designed a custom presentation format with minimal corporate branding, using bright and colorful visuals to reflect Greenville’s vibrancy.
  • Featured high-quality photography and videos of Greenville’s landscapes, city life, cultural events, and food scene to make the city feel welcoming and exciting.
  • Balanced emotional appeal with factual content, including statistics on shorter commutes, sunnier days, lower cost of living, and affordability compared to Seattle.
  • Showcased the new state-of-the-art Greenville facility as a symbol of innovation and future growth.
  • Integrated messaging about competitive relocation packages, job security, and career opportunity to reinforce the business case.

The Impact
The New Horizons presentation successfully reframed Greenville as an opportunity rather than a sacrifice. Employees saw compelling reasons to relocate, from lifestyle benefits to financial incentives, in a format that felt inspiring and personal. By moving away from Omron’s standard corporate style and focusing on vivid storytelling, the presentation generated excitement and buy-in at a critical moment, helping Omron smooth a challenging relocation process.
