



Tampico Sodas – New Flavored Soda Launch
The Challenge
With the growing popularity of Jarritos sodas and limited competition in the category, Tampico wanted to leverage its strong presence in the Latin community to launch a new flavored soda line. The challenge was creating a product that felt fun, bold, and flavorful while giving consumers a reason to choose Tampico over competitors.
The Approach
Conducted research into consumer preferences, flavor trends, and existing competitors in the soda category. The insights showed that bold, vibrant flavors with playful packaging would resonate strongly with soda drinkers, including fans of Jarritos. The design focused on emphasizing that this was a fruit-flavored soda through a clear, bright-colored bottle, a soda bottle shape, and a fun, recognizable bottle cap logo with a fruit image and carbonation bubbles extending outward to reinforce the soda theme.
The Execution
- Designed a proprietary clear soda bottle with a classic soda bottle shape to make the bright, colorful beverage inside stand out
- Developed the Tampico Sodas logo and label system, using bold colors and playful patterns to convey fun and flavor
- Created a bottle cap logo featuring a fruit image in the center with carbonation bubbles radiating outward to reinforce the soda theme
- Created promotional materials and point-of-sale assets to support the launch, ensuring consistency across digital, in-store, and event campaigns
- Designed the packaging system to work across multiple flavors while keeping each one distinct through color and flavor graphics
The Impact
The launch of Tampico Sodas successfully positioned the brand as a competitor to Jarritos, driving strong visibility and excitement among soda drinkers and Jarritos fans alike. The bright, playful branding, clear soda bottle design, and bottle cap logo resonated with consumers, resulting in impressive sales and establishing Tampico Sodas as a new favorite in the category.
